9 Awesome Reasons To Outsource Your Copywriting

If you’ve had it up to here with trying to do everything and be everything for your small business, you’re not alone. It is impossible, and really, there’s no reason to be a super hero.

Need a solution? Start by making a list of all the tasks you really don’t like to do. If copywriting is one of them (trust me, I’m not offended!), here are nine awesome reasons to outsource your copywriting – and stop feeling guilty about it.

1. You will free up time

I don’t know about you, but I do not have the time to do everything for my small business. I outsource my bookkeeping and accounting (mostly because I hate doing it), which frees up so much time to do the stuff that will grow my business – like talking to and meeting with new and existing clients.

2. You will free up headspace

You know those to-do items you’re so good at avoiding that they never get done? Instead they sit there, staring at you? And you spend all that time thinking about how you HAVE to do them and you really SHOULD do them? But you don’t anyway?

Gone. All of that is headspace is freed up to focus on other, more fun, more productive things.

3. You can focus on what you’re good at

Now that you have copywriting off your plate, you can focus on what you do, which is why you started your business in the first place. You didn’t start your business to slave for hours over one blog post or landing page for your website!

4. You don’t like to write

Why on Earth would you force yourself to do something you don’t like to do when someone else can do it better and faster – and get awesome results to boot? Exactly. (And this goes both ways – I bet I can’t do what you do, either!)

5. You don’t know where to start

It’s almost like someone told you a hidden treasure was 150 yards away and it was yours within the hour, but then didn’t tell which direction to walk in. You can’t start walking in the right direction, so you stand there, frozen in place, trying to decide what to do.

Same with writing, say, email copy for your biggest promotion of the year. Want to take a chance that the direction you choose is the right one?

6. You’ll enjoy the benefits of an outsiders’ perspective

Working with a copywriter who doesn’t know anything about your industry is a huge benefit – yes, really. She will ask tons of questions, never assuming she knows everything. She will think about what you do from a customer’s perspective, because she could be one.

As a result, she’ll break down all of your messaging so it’s crystal clear – to you, your customers, your partners, and anyone else you need to engage with.

7. Your copywriting will be backed by strategy

I’ve met a lot of small business owners who write blog posts, emails and social media copy based on what pops into their head rather than what helps bring them another step closer to reaching their goals. When you outsource your copywriting, it’ll be backed by a strategy that intentionally moves you forward.

8. You won’t feel all alone

There’s really nothing nicer than outsourcing your copywriting (or accounting) to someone who has your back, who gets you and wants to help you succeed, who you can bounce ideas off of. It’s really nice to not feel all alone.

9. You’ll stop feeling guilty

And feeling guilty doesn’t help anyone, does it?
